Brief
Motivation
Substantial efforts are currently made to develop alternative low- or no-carbon fuels such as methane and hydrogen or electricity-based mobility. Despite these activities, diesel-fueled engines and vehicles will, at least for the next decades, remain our workhorses to transport goods and people.
However, exposure to diesel exhaust is associated with various adverse health effects. Based on the proven genotoxicity of dozens of its constituents, diesel exhaust is judged as mutagenic and carcinogenic to humans.
With these perspectives, efficient catalytic converter technologies are urgently needed to detoxify diesel exhaust.
Particle filters have evolved to a mature environmental technology and the VERT label is, by now, a well-accepted standard for high quality DPFs with excellent particle filtration efficiencies and moderate risks for secondary pollutant formation.
Combining efficient and safe NOx abatement technologies with particle filters is a considerable challenge that has to be addressed now. The VERT forum is an excellent occasion to bring together key players in this interdisciplinary subject.
Participants
Cordially invited are representatives of the involved industry, government, regulators, and members of the VERT association and those, interested to become one or those, curious to learn more on the latest developments in diesel converter technologies.
