Computational statistics @ Empa

5. November, 14:00 17:00

Empa, St. Gallen and virtual via zoom

TOPIC

  1. Computational statistics for health care and biomedical engineering, environmental sciences, food sciences, omics, big-data analysis, and image analysis.
  2. R software as a tool for analyzing, modeling, and graphing the data with specialized applications.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Scientists, PhDs, postdocs, and engineers already working with statistical models and tools or who are interested to utilize such techniques. As a part of the workshop, an introduction of R will be given for those who are interested in implementing this programming language.

OBJECTIVES

This first workshop aims connect the scientists working in computational statistics at Empa and beyond. The plan is that you leave with new ideas and possible contacts at Empa to boost your research. We want to also hear from you what you are working on and what your needs are in the future. An additional objective is to allow you to better utilize R for statistical analysis, modeling, and data visualization. This workshop is open to absolute newbies as well as experts, since we particularly aim to link people with different backgrounds and skills.
